IEEE conformance testing can be an important step in bringing Wi-Fi products to market. For companies looking to go beyond the interoperability requirements of Wi-Fi certification, the IEEE specification conformance represents the next level of product performance. Azimuth conformance testing validates that operation of 802.11 devices, at the packet level, conforms to specifications defined in the IEEE 802.11 standards. Effective IEEE conformance testing verifies that devices offer, at a minimum, the mandatory functionality required by the Protocol Implementation Conformance Statements (PICS). In addition, IEEE conformance testing should also validate the adherence of optional functionality to the IEEE 802.11 specifications.
With assistance from the University of New Hampshire Interoperability Lab (UNH-IOL), Azimuth has developed automated conformance test solutions that significantly reduce the time required for conformance testing and increase the accuracy and repeatability of conformance test results.
