A key client component of the W-Series Wireless Test Platform, the STM-412 module enables users to install a wide variety of off-the shelf network adapters and drivers into the test environment. This PC-based module supports up to two client stations placed on carrier cards and inserted into RF-controlled chambers.
The Station Test Module (STM) allows the user to easily configure, control, and position standard client stations and precisely analyze their performance both in and on the network under test. The ability to test and analyze the interoperability of access points (APs) and clients is critical to determining network performance.
The STM-412 offers the following features:
- Support for both RF and Ethernet traffic
- Dual integrated and isolated client slots for testing 802.11 mPCI, PC Cardbus or USB network adapters
- Support for up to 16 wireless clients per chassis
- Standard PC platform for repeatable test results and correlation
- Integrated Azimuth signal attenuation and switch subsystems
- Ability to send client RF traffic to the chassis RF backplane or front panel RF port
- IEEE 802.11 a, b, and g capable with support for all emerging 802.11 standards including Security and QoS
- Central test management and control of wireless client parameters by Azimuth DIRECTOR™ Test Executive software
