The Azimuth W-Series is the industry’s leading Scalable System Platform for performance and conformance testing of Wi-Fi devices and networks. Designed for cabled, system level-testing of 802.11 wireless access points, clients, and other devices, the W-Series is a flexible chassis and test module platform centrally controlled and configured through Azimuth’s DIRECTOR Test Executive software. The W-Series tests Wi-Fi equipment under varying mobility conditions and traffic patterns, delivering consistent, repeatable test results. The platform supports more than 25 standard test scripts as well as test design tools that enable users to automate a custom test plan.
Azimuth offers two rack-mountable W-Series chassis options – the eight-slot 801W and three-slot 301W – which provide complete RF isolation and control for testing 802.11a, b, g, and multi-band operation. Test modules act as the building blocks to construct virtually any Wi-Fi scenario. Test modules are installed in the W-Series chassis with both digital and RF connections, facilitating highly-controlled and accurate testing. Each test module delivers specific functionality to the network under test, offering significant flexibility and scalability.

The W-Series test modules include:
- TestMAC™ Module – Facilitates performance and protocol testing of client and/or infrastructure devices by emulating a client or an AP and through programmability of traffic generation and capture.
- RF Port Module – Provides RF-controlled connections to a variety of wireless devices, enabling the evaluation of more advanced WLAN scenarios and increasing the scalability of the other test modules.
- Station Test Module – Enables performance and interoperability testing of wireless clients and drivers, including MiniPCI, Cardbus and USB adapters.
